Rules:
The rules are in place to make for a smoother room, and fair fun RP. Please respect all rules placed here and understand that they are in affect for your fun and safety. Thank you.
Roleplay Universe Rules:
Above all else, the roleplay universe rules over run anything. Please respect the rules that the site creators and admins have placed in affect. For your benefit the link to the rules page is listed below.
Roleplay Universe Rules
Room Rules:
1. Respect all other roleplayers. Just because you do not like someone does not mean you have the right to ridicule or give them a hard time. Everyone is here to have a good time, and just as you have a right to have fun, so does everyone else. So please respect your fellow roleplayers.
2. Please respect the council. They are here to make your life easier and to keep a fair RP environment for all roleplayers.
3. Please keep all arguments out of public, if you have a problem with something or someone in the room, make sure to PM a council member, or place a complaint on the message board. Please keep the complaint clean of any slanderous or insulting words. If you're that angry, PM one of the council members on the board. We're here for your help, but to keep matters smooth and not interrupt the lives of others, it is kind to keep matters private.
4. Keep OOC down to a limit. Talking to friends in the rooms, joking around is all fine and fun. But when it starts to interrupt the RP of others it should be taken to messengers or PM. If asked to take things private, respect the request and please do so.
5. Keep complaints and general bad mood comments to yourself, people do have bad days and that's understandable. But try to keep things to a minimal, to allow the roleplay of others around to stay fun and without problems.
6. Public Sex Scenes are forbidden, it is all right to elude to such, and to make simple comments. But to have the full act in public is a strict no and will not be tolerated. Such things should be taken to private to respect the feelings of the other members in the room.
7. This is a no killing without permission room. Which means that you are not allowed to kill another members character without their strict permission. Now this does not grant the other player immunity if they are being purposefully aggravating and placing their character in dangerous situations. In such cases the problem should be brought before council in order to decide if the death should stand. So please don't kill another person's character, but on the same page do not annoy or aggravate the other player. This rule is in affect to be a benefit of the players, and should be used as such...not as a get out of death free card.
8. All major actions concerning another person's character must be approved by them. Granted you don't have to list everything that you're going to do in RPG, but if the action is serious and thus will inhibit their use of that character they should be forewarned.
9. All major storylines that will cause mass destruction of the places in the room must be brought before council before being allowed to play out. This is to protect the other players, and to keep matters even. We will have storytellers to help develop and run storylines.
10. When posting, please keep an order to things. Allow all players time to react to your posts, and try to keep posts from sounding like its forcing an action onto someone else's character. Please keep attacks in a single post down to a small number. Don't overwhelm another person with a dozen attacks. Remember that you don't have to accept every action as is, but respect if the person is capable of defending themselves in such a way, and be true to your character and the sheet. This is a no dice roll room, which makes it a little more difficult to determine what hits and what doesn't. Just respect the battle and the other players that are part of it.
11. If by some chance someone has computer problems, and no one realizes such until much later. Roleplay should be paused, and backed up to determine if the person could have done something to aid, or stop what happened. Its only fair as computers and life can at times become hassles. On the same note, if someone must leave, do not play actions against their character unless given permission by the person to do so.
12. If a person does not understand a power that was used, try to be kind and explain it to them. Not everyone is familiar with every power that was ever written for WoD. Be gentle and understanding that some people take longer to understand.
13. This is a WW/WoD room, a character sheet MUST be submitted and approved before play. If you are unsure of how to make a character sheet then come to one of the council members who will be more than willing to help you. You can always ask for a friend to help you as well. The character sheet must follow the White Wolf World of Darkness rules. Nothing out of the rules of the White Wolf Games will be allowed.
14. Have fun! That is one of the most important rules for an RPG. As the basis is to have fun and relax, and for this to be a place for the populace to just enjoy themselves.
Character Creation Rules:
1. No vampyrs lower than 8th gen will be allowed. There are some cases that will allow perhaps a 7th generation in, but it will be rare and must be well explained. 6th gen will be even more rare than that, and perhaps not allowed at all. There will be absolutely No 5th or 4th generation vampyrs..any lower than that and its completely unheard of.
2. For newly formed garou, no higher than rank 3. For those that have played Garou for a long time, the acceptance of the character sheet will depend on history and past RP experience, it will vary from sheet to sheet.
3. The rule for mages is no arete over 4. Which means no spheres over 4. This is to keep matters fair and for others to enjoy themselves. There are more important things than how much power you can wield.
4. Each sheet is its own identity. So please do not compare your sheet to another persons, or tell us that we let someone else through. There are other factors that are considered when looking at character sheets, and more than likely you don't know what they are or why we did what we did. So please respect our decisions.
5. Probation Approvals are set to allow council time to see someone's RP ability and how that person plays as well as how well they respect the rules of the room. The more powerful the character the more likely one is to find themselves a proby.
6. Although powerful characters are sometimes allowed into an RP, it will not always be the case. The more powerful the character is, the less likely the council will be inclined to allow it. Try to keep the characters down, as we are here to have fun...not to overpower the room. Respect our decisions on the approval or denial of a particular character.
7. When submitting a character sheet, please keep it in the posted formats as are placed on the site and the board. Make sure to write a good history for the character, we're not asking for a novel but it needs to well thought out and pertain to the character. It also needs to explain certain facts of the character and how they know what they know.
8. Do not use material that was created by another person, or yourself on a CS. Use ONLY the material written by White Wolf, as this is strictly a WoD room. Creative thinking on what a powers does is allowed, as long as it stays within the boundaries that were written for that particular skill, ability, attribute, discipline, sphere, gift...you get the drift. Have fun with what you can do, but stay within rules. Thank you.
9. When asked to change something on the sheet, make a reply...don't change the original document.
If you need help with a character sheet, please ask any of the council members. We're more than willing to lend our hands in aid to those that don't understand the system.
Experience Points:
1. You are not allowed to change the dots on your own sheets. You have a place on the boards to state what you want to buy and one of the council will change the sheet accordingly for you.
2. Journal posts for earning experience points need to be at least 4 sentences long (That's a paragraph). They need to pertain to thoughts, feelings, and experiences of the character to better develop the character or the storyline at hand.
3. If points are wanted for major storylines, please save and document the storyline...include the names of the other players in your journal posts. There are not very many council members at this point so we cannot be in the room at all times.
more explanation of the experience point system will be listed on another page. It will thoroughly state the rules and the points for what.
Thank you for your time. Please respect the rules, and abide by those set in place. They are here to help make this place fun and enjoyable for all.
