Enchanting Voice (2pt Merit)
Physical
You have an almost magical voice, beautiful beyond words. You may add two dice to all rolls directly involving the use of your voice, such as leadership, seduction, singing, etc. Depending upon the circumstances, the Storyteller may allow you to use two extra dice when making any type of roll involving Presence.
Phobia, Mild (1pt Flaw) [Nosocomephobia- Fear of hospitals.]
Mental, General
An overpowering fear of something causes you to instinctively and illogically avoid it. You must expend a Mental Trait if you wish to remain in the vicinity of the object of your fear.
Hank grew up in Greece until he was ten, when his mother and father moved to Chicago to start a new life after his grand parents passed away. His mother was the classic care giver, attending to Hank and his sister endlessly. His father was an engineer, and their family got by for many years on his fathers income alone. In high school he was smart, good looking, and charming, part of the popular group and participating in both basketball and football for recreation. He looked after his little sister when she entered high school with him, never caring if he was 'uncool' for letting his 3 years younger sibling tag along. When Hank was 18 he entered trades school, despite his fathers desires that he follow in his footsteps, Hanks heart was in learning carpentry. A year after his apprenticeship began, his mother passed away from cancer. His father began drinking, and gambling, and his younger sister Althea was pulled into his substance abuse. Trying to get his sister out of that situation, his father became violent when he came to get her, and took a shovel to him. Hank fell into the substance abuse, and became a heavy drinker for the following year, dropping out of trades school and wallowing in self pity and misery at his losses. His sisters overdose when he was 21 was a wake up call for him, and entered rehab to quit the drugs and drinking. It was an off and on again year and a half, until he finally managed to get clean. After his release, he re-entered trades school. To pay for it, he took a job at the Mad Hatters Liquid lounge under the employment of Gabriella Balfoure and Randy de la Morte (two kindred). He was charming, and good with the ladies, and learned quickly, which made him the perfect bar tender. He earned very good tips, and found it quite comfortable. That's where he met Leo, the quiet, and extremely shy tom boy who hid from everyone and everything. He felt bad for her, she seemed so... sad and always withdrawn, unless she was with Gabriella or Randy, where she seemed to come out of her shell and play a little, although being mute made it seem so stiffled and held down. It took Hank nearly six months to get Leo's trust, always pouring her a diet coke and sharing cheesey, although perfectly delivered jokes. Eventually she warmed up to him, and when the co-owner Randy dissappeared, Leo was left with Gabby and Hank for support. They bonded during that time, but always seem to be holding things back..unspoken things, a lot because she could not speak. When Leo gained a voice she and Hank were able to converse beyond paper, and they talked about their pasts... Bonding over mutual despair and hard times, and the strength to get up and move through. After Leo became the full owner of the club, when Gabby to dissappeared mysteriously, he became the manager of the first floor.. Although he was never allowed up to the VIP lounge on the second. He always wondered what was up there, and as years passed and Leo never changed, he began suspecting. Others came and went, the same, unchanging, perfect, beautiful faces that were always allowed up to the second floor (Elysium). When Leo finally came to him, talking of going away again to start another club, she should have been 25. She looked exactly like she always had, and he had expected something of the truth for years, all the strange things that happened there. He wasn't shocked, but she sat him down in her apartment and told him the full and honest truth of it all. Blood, bonding, ghouling, regents, masters, the camarilla. It was a crash course in all of it, and she gave him a choice. He was nearly 29. He could be bound to her as her ghoul, act as a free ghoul as Leo had for many years, or she could make him forget it all and he would go back to his normal life. He chose to bind himself to her, and be her ghoul...and they have traveled, and been unseperable since. Under Leo's enthusiastic eye, he's been able to do his carpentry more often, branch out into more exciting sculptural works, and has begun learning new skills. They've traveled to Cancun after his ghouling, where they spent a brief stint opening a mechanics shop for local workers to learn the trade, and an art gallery and clothing store where Leo's other ghoul Mysty LeClair sells her fashions. They spent countless days simply exsisting on the beach, and when Leo was going through hard times Hank would stand with her in the waves and simply stare at the stars. San Deigo was a high time for them, the club went off beautifully there and they were the life of the city, a central point for kindred converging to gather and fortify. Now they are branching out again.
Character habits :
When Hank stands relaxed, he has his hands tucked into his back pockets and his front open. It makes him seem very honest, and open, rather than standing with his arms crossed. It's part of his key to successful charming, body language.
He cleans things, always polishing silver wear and glasses, wiping counters down.
He has a whole arsenal of cheesey, or cheeky jokes. Dirty, clean, childish, lame.
His face is never expressionless, he isn't easily read, but emotions can be gleamed. It makes him very open feeling.
